Underwater Photonics―Frontispiece of Advanced Science

Our research has been spotlighted on the frontispiece of Advanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 34, dated September 11, 2025.


About the Frontispiece: This image shows a novel class of Huygens meta-optics for underwater photonics. In article number 2510467, Ming Lun Tseng and co-workers present water-immersed GaP metasurfaces composed of Huygens integrated resonant units for structured light generation in aqueous environments. Leveraging a combination of forward and inverse design strategies, the team achieves ultrathin devices with robust mechanical stability and excellent optical performance. These metasurfaces hold strong potential for applications in biomedical applications and the Internet of Underwater Things (IoUT). Image created by Hsu-Chan Hsiao.
